My inspiration - my cousin Gwen
Taking a lunch break in Stony Point, NY
Dear Friends-
On June 2, I will again ride a Century (100) mile bike event with Team In Training, a fundraising program of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, to help raise funds that support research and education in the fight against these and other blood cancers.
This year I am seeking your support for my ride - "For Remembrance Of Gwen” – (FROG). As a dedication to my cousin Gwen.
Gwen lost her fight against Acute Myeloid Leukemia in September 2012 at the age of 46. She was a fighter and a truly wonderful daughter/mom/ sister and friend. She was my inspiration to join Team in Training and in pushing for every mile on every hill.
F.R.O.G. - my mascot.
A reminder of why I ride!
This year I am committed to raising $5,500 (hoping to beat my contribution total of 2012) - not only for Gwen’s memory- but for everyone still fighting to beat these diseases.
So hop to it – donate via this website: http://pages.teamintraining.org/nyc/ambbr13/SYBIKER
If you would like to pay by check - please email me at SYBIKER@gmail.com and I will send you my address.
Please make check, payable to “The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society” and add “Stacy Young NYC Chapter” in memo area.
With gratitude always,
Stacy
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is a voluntary health organization which funds blood cancer research, education, and patient services. At least 75 cents of every dollar raised by Team in Training goes directly toward cancer research and patient support.
Update: The temperature is rising and so are the hills -
A few weeks of challenging training-- with temperatures not reaching above 40's -- and the many hills of Westchester/Rockland/ New Jersey. This season I am riding with The New York City Club and Team in Training to guarantee that I make the entire 100 miles and over all the hills!
Please join me in my remembrance of my cousin Gwen and for all those fighting against Leukemia, Lymphoma and other blood diseases
