So on Monday I went out for my longest training run and as luck would have it my knee started to bother me greatly and I was only able to get in 11 of the 20 miles planned. I felt really good about the running otherwise, but my knee just wouldn't let me continue. What does this mean overall though? I don't know. It does feel better every day, which is a good sign I would think. I am going to try to go in and see someone about it soon, my schedule has just been booked solid during the day. If nothing else, maybe I will just have to walk it all... :-)
Thank you so much for the response I have gotten on donations! I started this month a little concerned. I had been sick a lot and had not gotten out and talked to people like I wanted and I was feeling very behind on my goals. Now I feel much better about it all. Even though I haven't qutie reached my goal yet, I am much closer, which gets the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society much close to helping that many more people! Thank you everyone who has been generous and donated. I have sent out a bunch of thank yous at the beginning of the month and I hope to send out more next week and the long list of names that have donated since then. Thank you so much!
The marathon is just over 2 weeks away and I can hardly believe it!
The Game Night I had last night was a lot of fun and did pull in some more money to help me towards my goal. Thank you very much everyone who was involved in that!
I just wanted to clarify something. My goal for fundraising is $3,200, but I have a minimum of $2,900. And actually after all the newest donations get added, I have just under $950 left to raise to reach minimum! I haven't been doing as well with the fundraising as I have been sick alot, but now I am back up and at it and hope to get the past several hundred accomplished before long.
Please everyone, if you are looking at my page, even consider helping by donating just a few dollars. $2,900 is a lot of money for most people, but if you look at the list of donors that I already have, quite a few people have donated to help me towards that goal and only a handful donate $50 or more. Most people donate $25 or less. No matter the size of donation, you are helping the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with the fight against blood cancer!
No donation is too small! If all you can do is not get a soda in a vending machine one day and donate $1 to this cause, then that is all you donate. Each dollar counts and if everyone donated just $1 that would be a lot of dollars!
Basically, I have $950 left to raise and if you can help me with that, I'll take that help. No donation is too big or small!
This Friday evening I am having a game night at my house, so if you are in the Cedar Rapids area and would like to come over, let me know! All I ask is a donation at the door.
Recently I got my training shirt, it says saving lives, one mile at a time. I have to say, it really got me moving last weekend when I went running in it after being sick and not really wanting to go very far. I ended up doing 13 whole miles and they were definitely one mile at a time.
Training is going alright, I have been sick alot during it, which has not helped at all, so all the prayers of good health and smooth training from here on to the end will be very appreciated!
So last week was time to recommit and I did it! Which means, now more than ever I need your support and prayers for my efforts.
I am only about a third of the way to my goal, which means I have some money to raise! The money raised makes a big difference (see the Top 10 Reasons post).
I also have a lot of running ahead of me yet and it is now, more important than ever, that I stick to my schedule!
Come on family and friends, we can do this together!
