Dear Friends and Family
At the end of the year I will be 70, and I could not think of a reason for not doing another 1/2 Marathon this year. Cancer research still needs funding and once again, I am raising funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) as a participant in their Team In Training program, I am inviting you to help by making a donation to my fundraising campaign. (please read on)
I am training for the Detroit Free Press INTERNATIONAL Half Marathon on October 15. Last year I walked with my cousin Rona, starting in Downtown Detroit, over the bridge into Windsor, Ontario, Canada (that's why it is an INTERNATIONAL event) along the Windsor waterfront and through the tunnel back to Detroit. The last half hour or more it began to rain. It was pouring harder as we crossed the finish line. And I was back in Detroit, my home town.

Each donation helps accelerate finding a cure for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma. Nearly 958,000 Americans are battling these blood cancers. I am hoping that my participation in Team In Training will help bring them hope and support. On behalf of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, thank you very much for your support. I greatly appreciate your generosity.
Thank you, Roz Sarah aka Sarah Tomato
P.S. I would appreciate it if you would forward this email to as many people as you can to encourage them to donate as well. Thanks again.
“Catch The Bacon Wave #4” Fundraising Event on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Homemade Cafe
Bacon, Bacon, Bacon, more Bacon and Chocolate is a prix fixe four course dinner hosted by Collin Doran and Roz Sarah.
Two neighbors making a difference.
The Homemade Cafe is in the heart of our neighborhood. When approached about planning a fundraiser for LLS Collin did not hesitate. When the idea evolved into a Bacon themed dinner - Collin was 100% in. Each year Collin creates a menu that is irresistible to all food bacon lovers. This year’s menu will not disappoint.
Collin Doran’s father, Terry, died of cancer in January, 2012. He was a popular teacher and educator at Berkeley High School for over 32 years. After his retirement, Terry, served on the School Board and was Board President. Moreover, Terry was a outstanding husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend.
Roz is raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) as a participant in Team In Training Program. She will, once again, be returning to Detroit for the Detroit Free Press International 1/2 Marathon, held on Sunday, October 15 The course takes you through both downtown Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, crossing the border at both the Ambassador Bridge and Detroit-Windsor Tunnel. And now it requires a pass port to cross into Canada. Roz has been training and fundraising with Team In Training for over 7 years and participated in over 18 1/2 marathons.
Your participation will make this event an even greater success.
The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is to cure blood disease and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

WELCOME TO MY TEAM IN TRAINING (TNT) HOME PAGE!
It takes more than one person to make up a team and that’s why I’m asking you to donate to my TNT fundraising page for TNT!
By participating as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) TNT, I am raising funds to help find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.
Your donation will help fund treatments that save lives every day; like immnuotherapies that use a person’s own immune system to kill cancer. You may not know it, but every single donation helps save a life with breakthrough therapies such as these.
Patients need these cures and they need your support.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help get us all closer to a world without blood cancers.
Thank you!
