On May 21, 2015, my youngest son Mike’s ten year old daughter Haley was diagnosed with High Risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Shortly after that my daughter, Jenny, signed up with Team In Training through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and ran the Marine Corps Marathon in Haley’s honor. Claudia and I cheered for Jenny and her teammates at the race in Washington, D.C. This year, Jenny has formed TEAM HALEY which is a group of 70 family and friends who are all participating in Team In Training and doing one of 7 endurance events this fall.
TEAM HALEY's mission is to raise over $100,000 for LLS. With your help we will be supporting the Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) Research Portfolio with funds going directly to research projects focused on ALL and Haley's name would be honorably linked to this portfolio.
I will be walking a 10K in Las Vegas on November 13, 2016 in Haley’s honor! I will be very proud to wear the TNT jersey with Haley’s name on it. Claudia and my son Mike and his wife Kressent along with my niece, Leigh, will be walking the half marathon in Las Vegas at the same time. I will also be in Chicago to cheer on Jenny when she does the Chicago Marathon.

LLS's continued advancements over the years are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled. Many LLS-supported therapies not only help blood cancer patients but are now used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers. They're even being tested in clinical trials for patients with a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate cancers. LLS funded drugs like Gleevec, Sprycel, Arinza, Tasigna and Zolinza are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.
All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. They'll not only support LLS research but patient services, advocacy, public and professional education, and community services as well. It's easy to donate online by clicking "donate now" or you may send a check to me made out to LLS. My address is 3415 115th Ave NW, Gig Harbor, WA 98335.
Thank you for your support!
Bob
