I'm Using My Bike As a Weapon In the Fight Against Blood Cancers!

Hi all! It's your old friend Gary here. Some call me a crazy cyclist. Others call me dedicated. I suppose some parts of both statements are true. I, however, like to think of myself as being on a mission. A mission to eradicate leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers. That's why I'm gearing up (or down on a hill) for the thirteenth time in six years to ride my bike 100 miles in one day. I'm training to complete the Apple Cider Century (ACC) bike ride in Three Oaks, MI on September 27, 2009 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training.

To participate in this ride, I will raise $2,300 to help LLS stop blood cancers from taking more lives. I will complete ACC in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers and those who have lost the fight. These people are the true heroes on our team, and I would like to have your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

To those of you who have supported me in the past to advance the mission of LLS , I thank you and look forward to your continued generosity. To those of you who are new supporters, welcome - and thank you!

There are many in this world who look at the prevalance of blood cancers and ask 'why?' The good folks of LLS dream of a cure for blood cancers and ask 'why not?' I am extremely proud to be a part of that dream!
