October Update
Oct 15, 2016 by Laura White

Family and Friends,

It's been about a month since my last update. Since training began on August 20, I have run 220 official training miles! I've pushed through first-trimester morning sickness and fatigue, and I've learned how to adjust with my quickly-changing body. When I put it in perspective, the people that I'm running for have to cope with SO MUCH MORE just to live their daily lives.

I am learning so much about myself, cancer, and running that I didn't know before I started this journey, and I'm happy and excited to know that there's still so much more to learn!

Tomorrow (October 16) I will be running my first half-marathon as a "practice event" with the Team! I am looking forward to the experience, and I'll be thinking of those who have been affected by blood cancers (especially my dear friend, Chanelle, and Neil).

If you are able, please help me reach my fundraising goal to give people like my friend Chanelle the ability to go on to live happy, healthy, CANCER-FREE lives. Please help me reach my fundraising goal so that we don't have to lose another loving husband, father, and friend like Neil.

God Bless and Go Team!

Laura

WELCOME TO MY TEAM IN TRAINING (TNT) HOME PAGE!

Friends and family! I'm about a month into my first TNT season!

By participating as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) TNT, I am raising funds to help find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients.

Your donation will help fund treatments that save lives every day; like immunotherapies that use a person’s own immune system to kill cancer. You may not know it, but every single donation helps save a life with breakthrough therapies such as these.

Patients need these cures and they need your support.

I will be running the Dallas Marathon in December in memory of Neil Moran, the father of my best friend's boyfriend. Neil had leukemia, and as a result, he passed away in July.

I'm also running in honor of one of my very best girlfriends, Chanelle Blackburn, who is a survivor of Hodgkin's Lymphoma! She is the mama of two beautiful baby boys, and our husbands are childhood bestfriends. I love doing life with this girl, even though we live hundreds of miles from each other!

It is my hope to have even an ounce of the strength and dedication to fighting blood cancers that Neil and Chanelle have.

Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help get us all closer to a world without blood cancers.

Thank you!

Laura
