Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
In January, I received the news that a close friend had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She was vivacious, caring, and hilariously funny. Within a few short weeks she lost her battle with cancer, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Running has been my stress relief over the past few months, and I've left plenty of tears on the trail. So I was excited to find out that I could combine training for an upcoming race with a fundraiser to fund cancer research.
I've committed to raising $1500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) as I train for a half marathon. The funds raised are used to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. Much of the research also benefits patients with other types of cancer. In addition, LLS provides support services to assist patients and their caregivers as they fight blood cancers.
Please consider making a donation, no matter how modest, to help improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

*** DONATION UPDATE: If you would like to donate in honor of someone that has been touched by cancer, please leave their name in your donation message or tweet your dedication to @MileageMama. There is NO minimum donation amount to qualify. I will be posting all dedications on my pre-race blog post and also carrying the list with me during the race! ***
