A donation of any kind is much appreciated.  I’ve set a big goal, so I really do need your help.  All donations are tax deductible.

In May of 2013, we took my mom and dad to Disney World for a family vacation with our kids.  My mom was unusually tired and spent more time than usual resting.  In June of 2013, she was diagnosed with Leukemia.  They started treatment immediately, but the cancer was too far along and she died in January 2014 – a short 7 months after being diagnosed.  Now I want to do whatever I can to help see to it that others don’t have to go through the same thing.

I decided to combine the love for my mom and my love for runDisney to raise money. I am currently training for my 1st Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team In Training event, The Walt Disney World Marathon Dopey Challenge in January 2019!  The Dopey Challenge is a running event that covers 48.6 miles over 4 days.  It consists of a 5k, 10k, half marathon, and a full marathon on consecutive days.

I have supported fundraisers of all kinds over the years (including Team In Training) as friends and family have battled cancer of various types, BUT then it got very personal.     

Leukemia is the #1 fatal cancer among children, adolescents and young adults under the age of 20 - there is still work to be done!  Your donation helps fund treatments that save lives every day; like immunotherapies that use a person's own immune system to kill cancer.  Here's an amazing video that shows how effective LLS has been in helping find groundbreaking cures: ResearchingCures
