Colin had just started 6th Grade and a was typical 11-year-old, busy meeting new friends, going on his first few campouts with the Boy Scouts, and excelling at a new sport, fencing. What we initially thought was just a cold would lead to a trip to the emergency room and a life-changing diagnosis; Hodgkins Lymphoma. With his typical positive attitude, Colin met the challenge head-on. After three months of treatment, Colin was in complete remission. Unfortunately, it didn’t last. Six months later, Colin's cancer relapsed and he was back in the hospital enduring four months of chemo followed by a stem cell transplant and radiation.

Three years later, Colin is still in remission and enjoying his Sophomore year of High School. Now 15 years old, he is still meeting new friends, fencing, and going on Boy Scout Campouts. We are incredibly grateful for friends like Nat who spend countless hours raising money to fund research for ground-breaking treatments for Lymphomas like Colin’s.

I’M CYCLE AGAIN TO CURE CANCER – with Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training!

I am starting my seventh-year participating in Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training endurance and fundraising program – cycling 100 miles around Lake Tahoe, June 2, 2019.

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world’s largest health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. The mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Over the past 3 decades, with the help of Team in Training participants, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has:

In just 2017, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society got more than 10 FDA drug approvals for blood cancers. And over the past 17 years, nearly 40% of all FDA approvals for ALL cancer treatments began with blood cancer patients.

Again, I’m riding for my friend Mike Hoben’s son Colin, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2014.
