I have had the gift of good friendship in my running community and I am SO THANKFUL for that! Thank you to SO MANY of you who have joined with me in fighting for a cure for blood cancers. I will continue to champion this cause until there is a cure!

    

I'm setting out to break the Guinness World Record for most Half Marathons run in a single month during Blood Cancer Awareness Month in September 2018...

 

My journey with TNT started in October 2006, three years after my best friend’s daughter – Kimberly Thorne – died at the age of 17. In November of 2018, it will be 15 years since she passed and 12 years since I WALKED my first half marathon with TNT. Since 2011, I’ve been a TNT Coach and have become an avid runner, joining a number of running clubs (50-state Half Marathon Club, 100 Half Marathon Club, Half Fanatics and Maniacs)

As we approach the 15th anniversary of Kimberly’s passing, it feels very apropos that I’m aiming to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD for most half marathons run in a single month during the course of Blood Cancer Awareness Month in September 2018 to bring awareness to blood cancers.

The current record for most half marathons is 13.  I currently have 18 races planned (17 half marathons + 1 full) throughout the month (see list below).

I do this all because reaching goals is fun, as well as the travel.  I also do this for Kimberly and so many others who have battled blood cancers.

I would be SO GRATEFUL for your donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as I pursue this world record goal and as we all pursue a world without blood cancers.

MY RECORD BREAKING HISTORY

* Broke (unofficially) the Guinness World Record for most half in a year. The record is “only” 102 (I believe!) and I'm at 122. 

* Awarded the first ever finisher of 100 halfs in 52 weeks with the UK Global Marathon Challenges.

* First Global Marathon Challenger member to finish 250 halfs in 250 weeks (am getting verification of that).

* With the Half Fanatics club (over 17,000 members), have the most halfs in 2018 (88+) and most lifetime halfs (448+).
