As you know, I am raising funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) as a participant in their Team In Training program (2011 Pittsburgh Marathon) and I'm asking you to help by making a donation to my fundraising campaign.
At 9 am on Friday May 6, 2011 I will be raffling off a $100 Gift Certificate to the Original Fish Market (1000 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15222). The Gift Certificate is for a dinner for two. It excludes alcoholic beverages and not for use on holidays - no this doesn't include your special day!
There is no limit on how many raffle tickets you can purchase.
1 ticket is $5.00
3 tickets is $10.00
5 tickets is $20.00
The drawing will be conducted by picking a random number. Numbers will be assigned in order of purchase of tickets. A spreadsheet will be maintained with all names and numbers assigned.
In person cash entries will be accepted up to May 5, 2011 at 5pm. Online entries are due by May 5, 2011 Midnight. IF you purchase tickets online, please reference “Raffle” in the comment section.

Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
While I have run other marathons for myself, the time is right to run for someone else, for a greater cause that can and does truly help. As you may know, I am active on Twitter ( @michaelsally ) , and through my friendships I have seen so many inspiring people make Team in Training part of their running world. All have personal stories of making a difference in helping through running and those stories have inspired me to do the same.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.

UPDATE (3/7/2011):
Training has been going ok, but, has hit a litte road block but I plan to start running this week. I have been visiting a PT who has provided some great assistance in getting me better and back up and running again!!
UPDATE (4/11/2011)
I am back up and running again! I survived a long trail run of 36 miles (yes 36!!) a few weeks ago and just last weekend had no problems with a 15 miler.
