I have signed up to run my first full marathon! I will be running the Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco in October and will be raising money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

I am running this event in memory of my dad. Although he passed away from complications due to diabetes, he was a cancer survivor. It had been a long battle but my dad was triumphant in his fight. Because of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s dedication to cancer research and finding a cure, my family and I were given more time with my dad.

I am excited beyond words to be a part of this. I have always said that if I were ever to run a full marathon that I would raise $10,000 for a charity that is important to me – so here I go! I understand that my goal is high but I’m shooting for the stars.

Here’s the catch - I cannot do this alone. Don’t worry, I’ll do all the running but I do need your help. Majority of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another and sadly it’s becoming a part of life. Let’s stop it in its tracks! I’m asking you to make a donation to this wonderful charity and help me reach my goal. Every bit counts so even if it’s just $5 it will be greatly appreciated. The website is secure and safe and all donations are tax deductable.
