Cycling to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in a "century ride" as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training program. Over the next few weeks, I will be undergoing strenuous endurance training in order to prepare for a 100 mile bike ride around the hills of Lake Tahoe on June 7. In addition, I plan to raise $5,000 to fund research that will help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. More than 823,000 Americans are currently battling these blood cancers today.

My hope in completing the century ride is to honor all individuals who are battling blood cancers. Foremost in my mind are my uncle, Peter Brown, who is diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL) and a dear soul, Carolla Zap, whose life was cut short at age 30 by a rare type of stomach cancer in 2004.

Please consider partnering with me in this, my most venturesome undertaking, by making a donation. Your support will not only aid my participation in Team In Training's century ride but will help advance the mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. ps - If possible, I'd love it it if all donors would sign my Team in Training jersey. I wear this jersey when I attend workout sessions and will probably do so on the day of the ride itself. Seeing everyone's name on my jersey will remind me of all the support I've received and will encourage me when the cycling gets rough and tiresome.
