Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to participate as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training to complete the Rock N Roll Marathon - Seattle on June 27, 2009
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
10 years ago I was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. The treatment I had put my leukemia in remission. I want remission and a CURE to be the end result of EVERY person affected by these diseases.
I am also doing this in honor of my friend, Tom. Words cannot express how proud I am of him. Tom was diagnosed in April 2007 with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer of the plasma cells. In the span of 1 year he went through brain surgery, chemotherapy, back-to-back stem cell transplants, multiple hospital stays and more drug therapy than one person should ever have to endure. Tom has done all of this with determination, grit and one heck of a sense of humor. He is now in remission and back at work. My admiration for him will carry me through those 26.2 miles on marathon day.
