My Fundraising Page
May 30, 2012
Welcome friends to my Team In Training home page.
As you may be aware, I am on a mission to support my mom and help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. My mom was diagnosed with Leukemia about 2 years ago and some days can be better than others in her fight. I want to join her fight and run for a cure.
Like the other members of TNT (Team in Training), I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. This is my first marathon and I need your help to finish and your support to help improve the quality of life for my mom and the thousands of patients and their families as well.
First, I ask you to drop my mom an email or call her to let her know you have joined the fight and encourage her to keep fighting through all the set backs. Her name is Mary Pat for those who do not know her. Just introduce yourself and offer a word or two of encouragement. Second, I need your mental and spiritual support. My intensive training started in mid-May. Having run my first half-marathon last September, distance running is as much mental as it is physical. I ask you to keep me in prayer and every now and again send an email, Facebook message or call to kick me in the butt. Lastly, I ask you to please consider making a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures. My fundraising goal is $2,000. With your help, we will make it!
