About the Goal:
This year I will train to ride in America's Most Beautiful Ride --a 100-mile ride around Lake Tahoe on June 1, 2014. As in my last four Team in Training events, I will ride for my Dad, who lost his battle with Leukemia in December 2012. He was my funny, loving hero and we lost him way too young.
So many I know have lost someone far too young to this disease --from children like Bo Johnson from Door County to my dad who lived into a retirement cut too short at 69.
And yet, due to advances in treatment, many others are striving, surviving, living and loving (Nicole!) not to mention riding right beside me (or way the heck ahead of me (Katherine!!) every single day.
And so, I am on a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in my fifth sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
Wishng you love and hugs for you and yours.
Vikki
(I'm accepting Charmin-grams as well. It's the squeeziest and will certainly cushion my ride. nyuk. nyuk.)
