Racing to Save Lives Welcome to my Team In Training home page. Have you ever been given a 2nd change in life? - Second chance at a job? - Second chance to earn someone's trust back? - Second change to make something right? I have been given a second chance at life. I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia at the age of 17, my senior year of high school. Think back to your senior year of high school I bet you had the time of your life. I missed most of mine...the football games, parties, sleepovers, the list goes on and on. I have been inspired by the words of Lance Armstrong...If you ever get a second chance in life for something, you've got to go all the way. So I am going all the way⬦... I have signed on with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training program to participate in America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride in Lake Tahoe on June 7th. Team in Training (TNT) is the world's largest endurance sports training program. The program provides training to run or walk marathons and half marathons or participate in hiking adventures, triathlons and century (100 mile) bike rides. With your support, I hope to raise $4,000 for leukemia research and patient care. I've been asked why I don not just complete these challenges on my own without going to the trouble of fundraising. The answer is because I am inspired...
Our honored patient this year is Christi McLinn. She too is a senior in high school and she has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Tennis is her passion and she has been playing since she was little. Using the same determination to fight her cancer she was determined to finish her senior season no matter what the circumstances were. While she was still receiving treatment, she and her doubles partner not only qualified for State they took seventh out of all division 2 teams. She truly is an inspiration. Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support! |
