Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
Like all normal people, I HATED running, but was somehow drawn into the sport. Thank God. I have happy high school memories thanks to track and cross country. My best times with my closest friends have been getting lost in the rain, flying across the country for races, and crossing those finish lines. It was running that got me through the double whammy of a cancer diagnosis and a divorce. Yeah, running saved my life. Figuratively.
Then I decided that it's not just about me anymore. Running should help save some other lives too. Literally.
The shock of hearing that my 28-year-old self had thyroid cancer last year was tempered by easy treatment options and a sky-high survival rate. Most people (and in particular those diagnosed with leukemia and lymphoma) aren't that lucky.
Yet.
That's where running comes in. With Team in Training this May I'll be running a FULL (not those 13.1's that I've been doing) marathon and raising money to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. I'm excited to be part of a team again, and excited to play some part in making a difference to solve this cancer puzzle.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
