Update and photos!

I've been training for a little over two months now, and it is going great! I am still pretty slow overall, but I feel better every time I go for a run, and it is getting easier to go longer distances. Hills still kick my butt of course, but we are about to start a round of hill-training, so that will either be really awesome or I will be cursing my coaches' names... one or the other. I am about 11% complete for my overall fundraising goal, so I need to step it up! In addition to constantly pestering people to donate, I'm going to be participating in our Team's silent auction on Facebook, a Football Square contest for the Superbowl, and hopefully will be selling some photography prints and services. I'll have details on all of that soon. Now for pictures:
This is me on a run in Shoreline in early December, looking pretty tired. Almost done with a 4.4 mile run at this point!
... and here is what the water looked like on my January 14 run at Alki... this is right after I got splashed with freezing cold water 4 or 5 times. It was fun!! At least, it was, until I realized it was much colder running while wet with salty ocean water! This run was a new distance record for me so far: 5.58 miles!

Thanks for donating!!
Half-marathon! It just might kill me... well, probably not.

Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
You are probably aware that I have never participated in a running event, and in fact am not very fond of running unless I am chasing a soccer ball. However, this is for a very good cause, and it doesn't hurt that it will whip me into shape! I started training in early November, and the marathon (half for me) will be in Vancouver, BC, on May 6, 2012.
This photo is from my first group run with TNT, at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens; I know I am quite small here, but I swear that is me!
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
I am doing this in honor of my three-year-old cousin, Robin Wren Cottrell, who was diagnosed with Leukemia in February 2011 and is currently undergoing treatment. Robin will have her 4th birthday on May 6, the day of the Vancouver marathon.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
