My first marathon to Save Lives

Hello friends and family,

Thank you for visiting my Team In Training home page.

I'm training for my first endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. I became aware of the Team In Training (TNT) program during one of my developer events, the Charity Code Jam 2009 in Indianapolis. The charity we were all building an application for was LLS.

In addition to your finacial support to the LLS, I'm going to need all of your support and encouragement to get through the next 5 months of training and finally the marathon. Please plan now to cheer me on in Vancouver on May 2, 2010.

Kelsye Nelson, who soon will be running the Seattle Marathon with TNT, will complete this challenge me.

All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

Not many know this but at one point we thought Anayat, my second son, had leukemia, thankfully it turned out it was his adnoids (which were promptly removed) but since that time I have been very aware of the pain many people endure due to blood cancers. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
