Welcome to my Team In Training page!

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of my brother, Deepai who passed away three years ago from Leukemia.

Deepai was diagnosed with leukemia in March 2006. He fought this battle with such strength and heart that amazed family, friends, and medical staff all the same. Even at his lowest times through this fight, he had encouraging words and was able to uplift and put a smile on the face of those who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

He was known as someone who had a special and rare magnetic charm that would touch your heart and draw you to love. He appreciated every little thing in life and would create a special bond with anyone he would meet. Even though he was in immense pain he would always be concerned about everyone else's well being.

He was a blessing to his family and anyone who ever met him. He was an amazing gift that God lent us for a short 25 years. He was the strength that kept my family together. Even on his last day he showed his love to all us with a smile and told us not to worry about him.

After he left this world I needed to find a way to heal from the pain. As I'm writing this letter I can't hold my tears back which show I still need to heal. So I decided to train my body to run and raise money for leukemia reseach. I believe that if there were enough funds to research more about this type of cancer I would have my beloved brother with me.

Deepai had dreams of making his rock band famous and raising his son, who was only 2 weeks old when he passed away. Leukemia took his dream away but you can help making others' dreams come true. Now is your chance to help all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
