Welcome to Team Siona's page!

We are training to participate in the Rock 'n' Roll marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

Reshma and I, along with family and friends, are completing this event in honor of our brave and beautiful daughter, Siona. As most of you know, Siona, our courageous daughter lost her battle against Leukemia - ALL, on the 1st of January 2011. Even though initially we were told she had a highly curable form of Leukemia, it turned out that she had a very rare form which had just been discovered in 2009. This discovery was made because of donations to causes like LLS. This discovery was a little too late for Siona, but it will benefit many other children and hopefully your donations will enable researchers to find therapies that will fight these cancers better and hopefully cure them once and for all! LLS also provides financial support to families dealing with cancer which is a huge deal for the families going through this journey.

It has been extremely tough to lose Siona, but we have found that one thing that helps in lessening the pain is physical exercise. I remember Siona so many times telling me "Dad get off your fat bootie and do some exercise" which has inspired me and Resh to start training and get in shape. It's a great feeling and hopefully we can use this feeling to do something great for Siona and other kids battling cancer. This also helps us very much in healing our hearts and dealing with the grief. It will take months or probably years to mimimize the pain of losing our special daughter and our angel Siona.

It would be great for us to raise the roof and raise at least $5,000, or more, which we know can be done. With individual donations, company sponsors and matching programs let's make it happen. Let's make a difference and honor Siona's spirit of making a difference and the unbelievable smile that is in all of our hearts. It doesn't matter whether its $1, $2 or $25 or $100 or $1000 anything helps when everyone participates. Thanks again, and if you have any questions please give me or Reshma a ring or email us.
