Racing to Save Lives...
***I DID IT!!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!!***
TNT raised over $2 MILLION for LLS for this event!!! GO TEAM!!!
I've taken the plunge and I am training to run the Seattle Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon (13.1 miles) as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
And your donations DO make a difference!! Dr. Larry Kwak, a leader in blood cancer research who has received grants from LLS, was recently named to Time Magazine's "100 Most Influential People" list for his work on a lymphona vaccine. Pretty cool!!!
Check these two articles: Research Link and Times Link.
My inspiration is my awesome friend Brianna, also doing the Rock 'n' Roll Half with me! She is in the center above, at the Pineapple Classic - another fun LLS event. Brianna just reached her 2nd Anniversary as a Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma SURVIVOR!! LLS helps people like her! She has dedicated herself to giving back so others may have the same chance she did & I am joining her in this adventure.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. It can help save more of our friends.
Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. The race is on June 26th and I need to reach my fundraising goal before JUNE 14th. Please help me in the "Race to Save Lives!"
I will be posting updates and photos about my training on my blog, feel free to visit!: http://stacyrunsagain.blogspot.com/
Thanks so much for your support!
