TNT Week 20 Update
Aloha!
Hard to believe there is less than three weeks until the big Pacific Crest triathlon in Bend, OR.
Last weekend I participated in the Issaquah Triathlon, my first actual triathlon event (500 yard open water swim, 15 mile bike, 3.2 mile run). Lake Sammamish was a brisk and refreshing 60 degrees the day of the race. Some might classify waking up at 5am on a Saturday to swim in cold water by choice as “crazy”, and now that I think about it I do too, but I remind myself of the reason behind my efforts: to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
In other news, the “Hops for Hope” fundraiser back in April was a great success. We were able to raise a little over $1,200 for LLS during the event through donated raffle prizes and silent auction items.
A big “THANK YOU” to everyone who has already supported my efforts towards the LLS. Because of you I am very close (almost 90%) to reaching my fundraising goal of $4,000 by June 15th.
Any donation amount during this “homestretch” of my fundraising is greatly appreciated (seriously any amount)! The LLS and I thank you for your support.
MIKE T.

TNT Week 9 Update
Hello!
I know many of you have been waiting on bated breath for a status update on my TNT training. Well you asked for it, you got it!
On Saturday we did our first “brick” workout. These particular “bricks” consisted of alternating running for about a mile and then biking for 4 miles over and over and over again. Good times!
For those of you in the greater Seattle area, I am organizing a “Hops for Hope” raffle fundraiser that will take place at Forza Coffee Green Lake on Saturday, April 21st 2012. I already received some AWESOME raffle prizes like Teatro ZinZanni dinner/show tickets, Beecher’s Cheese making/tasting/and gourmet lunch for two, athletic apparel from ExOfficio, and more. A ukelele rock coverband "The Castaways" will be providing the tunes and Forza will be offering the beer, wine, and food specials.
A HUGE thanks to friends and family who have already helped me raise $1,426.87. My goal is to reach the 50% mark of by this Friday. Know your support is appreciated!!

TNT Week 3 Update
Greetings friends! This past Sunday marked the end of the third week of TNT. On Saturday we went on a 22-mile bike ride in Redmond, WA (home of Nintendo US). The wind was fierce and the rain was relentless…good times! Judging by the track of mud on my back after the ride, I learned some bike fenders might be a wise purchase in the not too distant future.
After the ride I was presented with a TNT sweatshirt for the first of many donation goals. I wanted to send many thanks to all who have already donated to LLS, but know I still have a long way to go in order to reach my $4,000 goal.
Your support is greatly appreciated. Three weeks down, 21 more to go!
TOOLE
Hello and welcome to my Team In Training (TNT) homepage!
Thank you for your interest in supporting me in a great cause, fundraising for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). For the past couple of years I have enjoyed running recreationally for no other reason than for my own enjoyment. I have decided to step out of my comfort zone in order to complete the Pacific Crest triathlon this summer in Bend, OR. If I can contribute to a great cause, train with like-minded individuals, and challenge myself to something new, why not?
I haven’t swam since the days of Camp Horseshoe or really ridden a bike since 7th grade, so this should be interesting.
The money we raise through TNT funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with TNT and help advance the research to find cures. Every bit counts! Donations are tax deductible.
Thank you for your support and Go Team!
