Running to Survive
After just completing my 3rd Nike Woman's Half Marathon in San Francisco last month, I signed up for the Inaugural Nike Woman's half Marathon in Washington DC, April 2013. Why stop now?
And again I am asking for your help. I will be training and fund raising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help find cures and better treatments for blood related cancers.
I am participating again with Team in Training because I need to. Not only am I raising funds to support the LLS for cancer research and support for patients and their families, but for me as a cancer survivor, (Hodgkin's Lymphoma 24 years ago) it means much more. I am deep down thankful that I am alive today and healthy enough to train for a marathon. I have a heart felt need to give back. My family encourages me to do this because they know how much better I am when I can get a run in each day!! If mama is happy everyone is!
Since Mark's accident almost 3 years ago, and all the many changes in our life, I am so thankful that I am able to care for him, but also take time for myself. With his encouragement I am able to find time for a run. My time to be alone, pray and clear my mind.
I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the finish line—a cure.
I would be very grateful for your support through a donation. Your contribution is 100% tax deductible and any amount will bring us closer to a cure so others will someday not have to suffer with the pain and discomfort of blood cancers.
My deadline for fund-raising is February 1st. This time the goal is $2,660.00. Please make a tax deductible donation now, size is not important
Thanks so much for your kindness and consideration, and for being a part of this journey with me. Please visit here often to see our progress! Together we can give an awesome gift to those battling blood cancer!

T. S. Eliot
Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
