After all this training, in less than a week, I will be running in San Francisco. I spent my summer in San Francisco and refused to run parts of the course so that on Sunday everything would be a complete surprise.
The butterflies in my stomach are starting to build up.
I'm both nervous and excited.
The anticipation is a bit tortureous. Yet, this whole journey will have been worth it when I cross that finish line knowing we are all making a difference in helping cancer patients.
Thank you to everyone who participated and donated in our fundraising competition. Team Microsoft won. So... I can't believe I wore a Microsoft shirt to the Googleplex

In total, Jose and I were able to exceed our fundraising minimum by raising over $4,500!!! As a team we took the rivalry to a new level to benefit a cause we both are passionate about, we are running to help find a cure for cancer.
Whether you donated to Team Google or Team Microsoft your money will go great lengths in this battle against cancer.
Thank you for all of your support and encouragement.

As a way to make our fundraising more interesting, Jose and I are taking the the Microsoft-Google rivalry to our fundraising efforts.
Team Microsoft: If Microsoft out-donates Google, Carol will wear a Bing shirt to work.
Team Google: If Google out-donates Microsoft, Jose will wear a Google shirt to work. (Yes! You heard it right! He will wear a Google shirt!)
Why does this rivalry matter?
If you want to see Jose Moreno wear a Google shirt to work make your donations and specify Team Google in the comment section.
If you want to see Carol Toro wear a Bing shirt to work make your donations and specify Team Microsoft in the comment section.
The team that raises the most $$ wins.
Let’s do this friends!

Jose and I have come together to form Team Bring It. We will be training to run in the Nike Women's Half Marathon to raise money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS). As members of Team in Training we need to raise $4,800.00 for our half marathon that will be on October 16, 2011.
CHANGE OF PLANS!!!! Carol will be running the FULL MARATHON! Yes, 26.2 miles!
In order to run this half/full marathon, Jose and I have committed to making lifestyle changes, but that will not be enough. In order to meet our fundraising goal, we really need the help and support of our friends. Please consider making a donation to this great cause.
