Racing to Save Lives

Lissa Solinsky's Team In Training Home Page

I hope this update letter finds you all in good spirits and amazing health!

A massive THANK YOU to all of you who have so generously donated to my marathon madness! This experience has changed my life and it truly is an honor to run for such an amazing cause.

Molly and I are in our last week! Our big race day is this Sunday, October 19th. We are excited and ready to conquer the hills of San Francisco! Half of our team did an amazing job running the Portland Marathon two weeks ago. They all did well and are recovering nicely! Just an update on my honor patients, my uncle, Davey Langevin, was recently put into intensive care and they are trying to take care of an infection in his lung. The doctors are still contemplating treatment options for Davey. Todd Bruinsma, was diagnosed with three different forms of cancer. Todd responded well to his chemo treatment! Two of the cancers have been eliminated and Todd successfully completed his massive surgery at the University of Washington to remove the remaining cancer. Todd just returned home from a week stay in Hawaii with his entire family.

I am completing this event not only for Uncle Davey and Todd, but in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Once again, thank you to all of you who have so generously donated to this worthy cause! I continue to be humbled and blessed beyond words. I will covet your prayers this next week as Molly and I finish the race that we started 5 1/2 months ago!

Thank you in advance for all of your support!
