I am at it again! After a fantastic season with Team in Training last spring that culminated in my competing in (and completing! ) an olympic distance triathlon, I am now training for The New Balance Half Ironman in Victoria, BC this June! While the half ironman distance seems daunting, particularly as the event date approaches, the bigger challenge,of finding a cure for blood cancers is strong motivation. And the stories of our honored teammates, friends and family members who are battling or have battled one of these diseases keep things in perspective. I have been training since November and am amazed at what I can do. Just yesterday, Memorial Day, I biked 60 miles in a local event and felt wimpy that I hadn't done a hundred. Since when did I think, 60 miles was wimpy?! Athletically, I am making strides; with your support we can make strides in the world of blood cancer research and patient support as well. Please join me in this important work. All donations are tax dedcutible. Support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society today! Any amount helps. And Thank You!! |
