So Saturday I baked and baked and then baked some more :). Sunday I arrived at church before 830. There was one table set up. That turned out to not be enough. We had to set up a second table for all the baked goods that were donated. I felt so blessed to have so much food donated from the lovely ladies. The first part of the morning was a little rough. I didn't know how it would go, many people were avoiding the table in fact :). But after first service a bunch of people came up and talked to me and donated and ate the yummy goodies. We even sold a whole pie, thanks to having one donated ;). Second service was even more busy than first service and it was amazing how many people wanted to know all about what I was doing. We had left overs so a bunch of people suggested we freeze it and sell the rest next Sunday. I figured no harm no fould so we put a bunch of food in the freezer. The stuff with frosting that wouldn't keep was put in the fridge and is being donated to a local shelter. Lots of yummy cupcaked :). I was amazed at the generousity from food to money to support. We have a survivor at our church as well and I feel so very blessed to be able to help her in a round about way. I have meet new people at church, gotten closer to others and made new friends. This has been such a wonderful experience. Overall I made $546, some in cash which was posted today at $425 and some in change that should post later this week, and some in checks that will mail out Tuesday and post in a week or so. It is so wonderful. Well its 8pm and I am beat so off to bed I go. Thank you Damascus Road for all your support!
Monday night was swim. It was alright. I realized that my nutrition is messing with my training and that had to stop. I finally got a trainer last weekend so on Tuesday I got on my trainer for 30 mins. I know what a wuss but the trainer is harder than you would think. I pushed it a bit more as well. Wednesday I missed run practice and went to bed early. Thursday I got in the pool for an OYO swim. I not only managed to do the full hour but I got 42 laps in. I also did my 32 laps in 45 mins which is a 3 min improvement from the last time I got in and tracked it. Saturday I did a 10 mile bike ride with a 3 mile run. Bricks are weird but good. It was a little rough. I then came home and baked my heart out :). I will post about the bake sale in another post. Overall it was a great training week. I got another "brick finishing medal" it was great. I am loving training and my team. I am so glad I am doing this.
Thanks to Debra for her donation to my fundraising efforts. Watch your mail (or rather work desk) for a cool post Hawaii picture of me.
Had a great swim tonight. Did 34 laps in 50 mins. Had a 3 min improvement on my race distance so feeling pretty good about that.
Thanks to everyone that is supporting me. It means the world to me.
