Racing to Save Lives
Help support Leukemia Research
Wow, time flies when you're having fun! Its been a long 5 months and my race is just 2 weeks away!! With all the support and generous donations I've received I have only $150 left to go (have money that hasn't posted to the website yet). I'm so close, but I still need your help to bring in that last bit. All I need is 3 people to donate $50 and I'm there! Please help LLS and me by donating today.
My training for the Lavaman Triathlon is going well and has been picking up intensity for these last several weeks, its challenging, but I'm having a great time! I turned in my bike last week so it can be shipped off to Hawaii, and ready for me when I get there. 14 days to go!

Here's the scoop on what I'm up to for those of you who don't know. My dad, Joe Cloud, is a 21 year survivor of acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). At the time he was diagnosed, I was too young to do anything to help, but now I have my chance. I have chosen to participate in the Lavaman Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii on March 29th, 2009. This means that I will swim .9 of a mile, bike 25 miles, and run 6 miles. In the process of my training, I am raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS); my goal is $6000. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
My dad went through countless chemotherapy and radiation treatments, went into remission and then a year later relapsed. He was told his only chance for survival was a bone marrow transplant. Without the endless hours and tireless days researchers and doctors put in, he would not be here today. I want to give back to the field that helped save his life, and help prevent others from having to deal with losing someone precious to them. Please help support the cause by making a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
