I decided to sign up for the Eugene (half or full) marathon in April. With the recent death of Andrea, I felt the call to do something in the fight against cancer. Andrea is the reason that I began coaching for Team In Training. It was hard to feel helpless while she fought cancer and dealt with all the side effects of the treatments. By joining Team in Training, I felt less powerless, in some strange way. Jessica's diagnosis with lymphoma spurred me to become a fundraiser for Eugene in 2012. Luckily, Jessica's treatment was successful as a result of all that TNT has done to find different medications. I could not run Eugene due to my own illness. Within the last 8 weeks, I have resumed running and am so thankful that I have it to fall back on at this time of grief. It is therapy in motion. In one of Andrea's last posts on my facebook wall, she wrote about wanting me to be able to get back to what my passion is. Andrea, this season is dedicated to you. May your bravery, courage and strength push me through any obstacles I may encounter. I love you and miss you.
Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
