And welcome to my Team In Training home page.

Improbably, I'm training to traverse all 26 miles of the Equinox Marathon in Fairbanks this fall as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

My friend Ann, (in photo from earlier this spring), fellow artist and art educator, died of non-Hodgkin lymphoma on June 9th, 2009 after fighting hard to stay alive for four years. She used her energy in those years to earn a master's degree in Art Therapy and to LIVE--as always--laughing, drawing people in and loving them, inspiring and instigating all kinds of things--silly and serious. I told Ann in May when I joined Team in Training that she still had the power to inspire--even her elders.
