My Fundraising Page

Hey guys,

Thanks for visiting my Team in Training webpage! I've got 17 days until the Mayor's Half Marathon. I would love your donations to my cause, even 5 bucks. And maybe especially five bucks since that would be easier for many more people :) I not only appreciate your donations but your love and support as well.

Love,

K

Alright well, no pic of my sweet little pillow for now...the file is too big. It's on my Facebook page though!

Hello!

Thank you thank you for visiting my Team in Training webpage! All the Samoas and Thin Mints are gone...booo...but donate thirty bucks or more and I can stitch you a sweet little decorative burlap pillow like the one here :)

I have been so humbled by people's generosity and support over the past few months. 675 dollars is awesome! I'm so thankful to you all for your donations and support. I did nothing but post the webpage for it to be done.

Unless I can raise 500 dollars in the next three days, this is my last week of fundraising. On Friday I have to commit to raising the money or I pay the difference myself (eek!!) or I have to bow out of Team in Training. Regardless of what I have to do, I will still be running the Mayor's Half Marathon on June 18th in Anchorage in my white Team in Training jersey, and I will still be accepting donations for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I'm so proud to call you generous people my friends--thank you so much for helping me show my girl that we can do good things in this world to help others.

Love,

Kelsey

Hey there!

Thanks for visiting my Team in Training webpage!

I know never is a good time to give your money away, but even the seemingly meager donations would bring me closer to my goal, and help make the life of a child or adult with blood cancer much more bearable. The donation button is right over there to the right on this page. See it?

Did you know that the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is currently working on alternative therapies to treating blood cancers that are much less harmful and much less painful than the current therapies in use? When I think about why I'm running 13.1 miles, and why I'm trying my darndest to get my friends and family to help support this cause, I think about 3-year olds. There are three year olds with acute lymphoblastic leukemia who understand they're sick and getting better, but not why the whole "getting better" part doesn't make them feel better. If there are ways to make the healing process feel more like healing and less like hurt, I'm there. 5 bucks at a time, you know?

On a more personal level, I want to reach out and embrace the mother who must passively watch her baby endure painful treatments to kill something that's already so painful. I want to tell her it's ok, even if I don't really know for sure, and I want to tell her that I'm doing what I can to find a better way for her baby to get better. Having Anna makes this sort of pain even unthinkable. Just the thought makes me shudder.

I know there are so many different ways one person can help make the world and this hard thing called life a little easier. I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the needs of the world. Who should we help? Where will our resources be felt the most? I feel that by focusing my fundraising efforts torward LLS for a few months will not only help raise money for new, more bearable therapies, but will allow someone to feel like they put a dent in the door of hearthache for a young family that doesn't look too much different from themselves.

Thanks in advance for your support and prayers.

Love,

Kelsey
