Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. Last week my brother-in-law, Justin was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and is trying to come to terms with what that means, after all when you are in your twenties you seen invinsible! To me it means that I have to succeed with Team in Training to help him, my sister and their three beautiful children (the photo is of the whole family at Thanksgiving this past year). These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
I'm training to run the Mayor's Marathon (26.2 miles) in June in Anchorage, Alaska with Justin's name on my race jersey. I've also heard from my Uncle Hal and I will be supporting his friend Jim House from Kuna, Idaho on race day. There will be more names added to my race day jersey, but hopefully with your help, we can make a difference for these people!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
Also check out my blog - it's where all of my running updates are posted.
