Riding again to save lives!!
Once again I am training to participate in an endurance cycling event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. Our team will be riding the 100 mile 'Americas Most Beautiful Bike Ride' in Lake Tahoe, California on June 7th.
I did my first TNT ride one year after my bone marrow transplant in 2004. I am doing the ride again this year to celebrate five years of remission from my cancer. As a Leukemia survivor I will ride with the team as an honor patient. My role is to encourage and inspire members of the team to ride strong for the cause of finding a cure for all blood cancers . I am so grateful for all the athletes participating and all those of you who are supporting them . I can think of no better way to show my support than riding alongside them as a survivor, providing living hope that we can cure this horrible disease.
I am hoping to raise $4,000 through this event to provide funds to support blood cancer research and services for patients currently battling cancer.
Clearly I would not be here without the research that has been done and I plan to continue to ride strong until we reach the ultimate finish line - a cure for cancer!!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In
and help make a difference in the fight against cancer.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back
frequently to see my progress.
Grateful for your support!
John
