Dear Family and Friends:

As you are all well aware, cancer has touched the lives of many. For me it's personal – my dad was stricken with Lung Cancer which went into his lymph nodes and took his life at a very young age (55). I was 22 at the time, and to this day have been struggling with his passing. I hold on tight to all the wonderful and loving memories I have of my dad. The one memory that I am without that hurts the most, is the memory of a father walking his daughter down the aisle. I do not wish that upon any young women, and feel that if I can make a difference and help in the fight against cancer of any type, I am more than willing to put my best foot forward (literally).

I have made a commitment to FIS in their Mission in helping wipe out blood cancers by joining LLS Team in Training and will be walking a half marathon (13.1 miles) at Walt Disney World in Orlando on January 11, 2014.

My goal is to raise $3000 - I am now reaching out to you for your support! Your contribution will be used to help in research and patient education, family support groups, and survivor/patient matching programs. Your tax deductible donation will support research to find a cure for blood cancers.

I am improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
