In less than 24 hours, I will be running the marathon course through Walt Disney World, in Orlanda FL. I'm so excited to be here in FL surrounded by thousands of other LLS TNT runners.. there is literally a flood of purple t-shirts everywhere I look.
Thank you to all of you who have donated to this great cause, and if you haven't yet, there's still time!
After being here witnessing all the excitement and fun of just the pre-race activities and events, Nate and I are already hoping to come back next year :)
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!
After going to physical therapy for a couple weeks, my IT band is feeling much better. In fact, I ran the 5th annual Huffing for Stuffing with no problems at all! It was a great race to make a come back to actual running rather than just pretending to be Lance Armstrong on the exercise bike - not only did I get some exercise in before stuffing myself with turkey and pecan pie, I was joined by over 2600 other racers in the 5k!
As an added bonus, I received my TNT racing singlet in the mail this week. I'm excited that the race is getting closer but I'm also getting more nervous :). Thanks to everyone who has donated so far, it means a lot to me to have your support and I know it means a lot to the families who are receiving better treatment because of your donations.
Thanks to everyone who's donated so far! I've reached 54% of my goal!
In great "Kristin" tradition, I've managed to over-train and injure myself so my training has consisted of running about 2 miles a week with the rest of my training being made up on the exercise bike (Talk about boring). I'll start Physical Therapy twice a week - hopefully my IT band syndrome will calm down and let me get back to running!
On Friday, September 30th, Nate and I ran the Bozeman Oktoberfest 5k race - although it was a tough race coming back from running the Marathon on Sept 11th, we did pretty well! I took Women's 3rd place and we both got a free beer to celebrate the race!
The next day, Nate and I ran the Wolf Creek Relay with our team members Megan and Lindsey! In total, the course is 28.2 miles split into four 'legs'. It was the first time anyone on the team had run this race and it was a blast :) Definitely going to do this race next year!
Both Wolf Creek Relay Teams!
These were taken at about mile 3...that's why we look so happy still! :)
There were more pictures taken further into the race but we're still waiting to see those- will upload them soon hopefully!
T- Minus one week until the Bozeman Marathon! I signed up for this event as a way to get familiar with the 26.2 mile distance and therefore feel even better about my race at Disney.
I'm feeling a little nervous at this point, but I'm excited to try a distance that most people are either terrified of or think is ridiculous to run. Frankly, those thoughts have crossed my mind during training also.
I'll update the page again after the race with pictures and times!

WE DID IT!! Nate and I completed our first full marathon on Sept. 11th! What better way to remember those that were lost and those that have lost so much. I think we could've trained a little better to be more prepared, but in the end it was the will to finish that got us across the line. Our official times were 4:24:55 and 4:24:56. Not bad for our first 26.2 miles! Thanks to everyone who encouraged us through training and my early morning nervousness before the race!
