I am sad to report that my honored hero, James Gonzagowski lost his battle with cancer last week and passed away. Please keep my best friend Leisha, her mom and the rest of her family in your prayers as they deal with the passing of their father, husband, grandfather. Thank you for continuing to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with your donations.
Yep - I'm still running and heading into my 6th season with TNT. The pictures above are of Jim and me with my best friend, Leisha. Jim is Leisha's father and he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's disease after we signed up for our 2nd season with TNT. He's one of the many people I am running in honor of. Let's beat cancer! Help me with your donation.
My family and friends will be the first to tell you that Team In Training has become a true passion of mine. The reason is simple, I truly enjoy being part of a team. But, it's so much more than that. It's being part of a team with a purpose. Our goal is to help find cures and better treatments for blood cancers.
I will be participating in the Vancouver Half Marathon in May, 2012 as part of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I am raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. By doing so I can help advance the research efforts and improve the quality of life for patients and their families. Please join me in the fight to end cancer by making a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
Because of the training, encouragement and confidence I have received from Team In Training, I can now say that in the past 5 years, I’ve completed 2 marathons, at least 8 half marathons, 3 triathlons, 1 marathon relay and numerous other races of varying lengths from 5K to 15K. And, I’m always looking for new events to participate in. Being part of Team In Training has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. And I will not stop until a cure is found.
Again, please help me. I'm asking a lot of people to give a little to help me meet my goal.
GO TEAM! GO TEAM! GO TEAM!
Thank you for your support and good thoughts.
