This weekend I had a Bake Sale to Kick Cancer's Butt! I baked for almost 20 hours straight and a couple of my friends helped out by making goodies as well. I got a table at the monthly Flea Market in town and set up my wares. I was very surprised that we sold almost everything! So many people came out just to buy a sweet treat and to help our cause. When you are a very small town, it is a big thing to have even one of your children come down with a devastating cancer. Now I hear that we have two with Leukemia. So I will keep on fundrasing to help research for a cure for this. It is the least I can do. So, do you want to buy a cookie?
Today I went to the gym to try and help get in shape for the Tinkerbell Run. While I was there Jimbo, the owner let me put up a donation jar for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I also noticed a flyer for little Hannah Judd. There will be a fundraiser dinner in town for her. She was just diagnosed with Leukemia. This saddens me to no end to see such a small child with a life threatening disease. I am adding her in my heart to all the people I am running for in January.
Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
As an added note, my niece shown here, Her father (my husband's brother) is a Hodgkin's survivior and my husband's niece, her cousin has non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. This makes this very personal for me.
