I am running in honor of Peyton and Ezra. Both are young children who's lives have been forever changed by leukemia. I write more on their stories here.

Dreaming Big, Changing Lives

In early 2007, I made the impulsive decision that I was going to train for a 1/2 marathon with Team in Training. My friend, Nora, hopped on board with me and together we did it. Race day was grueling, to say the least; but, hearing the voices and seeing the faces of the cancer survivors cheering us on kept me going and forever changed my life.

I want to do it again.

My friends and I at The Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans dream BIG. A conversation between Kirsten, Christy, and I turned into Team Shrinking Jeans. We are training to participate in the San Diego Rock N' Roll 1/2 marathon on June 6th, 2010 as members of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. We are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Now, here is where you come in. I can't do this on my own. I know as well as anyone, times are tight right now. But if you can spare a donation, I will be forever grateful! Whether it be $1 or $1,000, each and every donation makes a difference in someone's life.
