I'm in a New York State of Mind

I'm training to participate in the ING NYC Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training.

I am running this event in memory of my grandparents, Moe and Jean Burns and my friend and former TNT Teammate, Doug Oxendine and all those loved ones that become my Cancer Warriors. I joined TNT after the losing my Grams, Regina Burns to Lymphoma. My Grandpa Moe was an avid runner whose passions were his family, running and having a good time (which typically meant having a few beers close at hand.) When my Grams passed from Lymphoma I thought, running a marathon and raising funds for LLS would be a wonderful way to honor them both.

What I did not expect was that TNT would be such a life changing experience for me. Along the way I have met and become friends with so many people who have battled a cancer diagnosis.

Proud Survivors: My Dad Charlie, My Aunt Joan, Cousins Helen Knapp and Pat Hanly, My Uncle Mike O'Shea, and friends, Betty DeWitt, Shannon Ambrogone, Chrissy Branch and Cade Needham.

Other are God's Angels: My Grandmothers, Regina Burns and Carloyn Wilson, Madelyn Dunn, Parker Underwood, Doug Oxendine, Alex Colon, Raida Woll.

I am forever changed from these experiences.

This event will to date be my biggest challege as far a training and fundraising. I hope that you will do me the honor of making a donation to my campaign as I train to complete this event. No amount is too small and all donations are 100% Tax Deductible.
