Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

As an educator, my ultimate goal is to have a positive impact on the numbers of minorities, including women, who enter STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) fields. Many of the college students that I have a pleasure to mentor have a passion for various careers related to healthcare including nursing, medicine, dentistry, physical therapy, etc. When I ask them why, it is usually because they have either been hospitalized, or someone close to them, due to illness. To show my support for them and their future career goals, I decided to participate in an organization that has a direct impact on scientific research and breakthroughs. Therefore, I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers.

To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in the Nike Womens Half Marathon 2013 as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
