Racing to Save Lives


Welcome to my Team In Training home page.


I'm training to participate in a MARATHON (yes, a full marathon, all 26.2 miles) as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all our kids in our Medcenter One Pediatric Hematology/Oncology family who are battling and have battled blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!


I decided to join the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training for two reasons. One reason is to move towards better health for myself by participating in something with such a great purpose. The second reason is because I decided that caring for my pediatric oncology patients the best I can as their registered nurse just isn't enough. I'll do just about anything for these kids (including hopping in a wagon for a ride at their request), but I want to do more for these great kids and their families.

    "I know how much Justin appreciated everyone at Med Center 1 when he was going through his treatments in 2006. He spent March through January 2007 at Med Center and was transfered to Rochester where he spent Jan. through July. He lost his battle on July 1st,2007. He always spoke very highly of all of you people their and would be proud of you for what you are doing. Justin was also a runner until getting sick. I wish you the best of luck and I know Justin is cheering for you."
