PILOTS FOR LLS

Why LLS?

In 2014 Heather Howley, Independent Helicopters Chief Pilot and CEO ran for LLS Man and Woman of the Year raising just over $16,000 for the Upstate New York and Vermont chapter. In 2016 our Assistant Chief Pilot Matthew Taggard raised over $20,000 with his campaign for LLS. 

Now in 2017, we hope to shatter those records and raise with your help over $25,000!  

Why the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society?

The LLS mission states: “Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. We are the voice for all blood cancer patients and we work to ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.” LLS utilizes donation capital for research, drug development, patient information, and patient advocacy. The not for profit organization actively participates in the lives of patients during and after treatment.

"Uncle Allen was an amazing man. We all miss him terribly and appreciate you keeping his memory alive. I recently ran a marathon, and during my my darkest moments I prayed for strength. I prayed to Allen and many more of my family members that had passed away..it was at that moment that peace and strength hit me like a wave and got me through those last few miles. When you are struggling during this race, I bet Allen will be with you along the way pushing you to get through the rough patches. I hope you meet your goal. Good luck during your training and most importantly, enjoy it and have fun! "

"It's been almost 5 years that leukemia won the battle and took Allen. He loved hunting, hiking and said he felt closer to God when he was in the woods enjoying all of God's creations. He was many things to many people, a father, a grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend to many and mostly my husband for 45 years. I will always love and miss him Bonnie Buffington"
