On April 29th, 2017, Coll’s Dolls - Karen, Donna, Maggie, Amanda, Alyssa, and Carolyn - will be running the Nashville Rock N Roll Marathon and Half Marathon with LLS's Team in Training to support Colleen Johnson.
For some of us, this will be the longest distance ever run.
For others, it’s a chance to take on 26.2 in full Music City style.
For everyone, this is the run of the year to honor our dearest friend, daughter, and sister, and support her in her fight against Lymphoma.
Each of our personal pages highlight why we are so moved to use our running to show support for Colleen. If you have met her for even 5 minutes, you know she is someone worth fighting for. She is the friend you want in your corner for all the situations that can make adulting so difficult. She is the confidant who is always willing to listen and offer advice. She is the dance instructor who hits the dance floor with the latest moves already perfected. She is the amazing person who is incredibly generous and always puts her friends and family first. If you’ve had those 5 minutes – or have been lucky enough to have more – you know why we are running for her.
The fight against Lymphoma doesn’t come cheap. It is expensive on so many more levels than just financial. But as Colleen says, attitude is a choice and she is choosing to stay positive. She has stuck to that mantra. Through news she never thought she would get. Through challenges and decisions she never expected to have to make or take on ever, let alone in her first year of marriage. Through moments when her body just wouldn’t cooperate, understanding that it was taking on a huge fight.
When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Colleen is tough. And we will be channeling her fierceness and attitude to get through these miles. It is our way to give her just a glimmer of the gratitude we have for all she has done, and continues to do, for us. We need your help now in raising money to help fund this society that helps so many people and families, including ours, all affected by this disease.
Please support our team. Any amount is helpful and appreciated!
With your help, we know this will be the most impactful race any of us have ever done.
Help us reach our fundraising goal by donating to a teammate’s campaign. Your gift will help support life-saving research to create a world without blood cancers. And, your gift is 100-percent tax deductible.
