Bib #9252
Chip Time 4:19:37
We enjoyed perfect running weather, great crowd support and had a great weekend exploring the city. Harras Zaid who ran with me finished within seconds of the 3 hour mark and qualified for Boston.
I want to send out a big thanks to everyone that supported the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in dad's memory. It means a lot to know that so many people miss and remember him. Hopefully our efforts will improve the outcomes for others that are diagnosed with blood cancers in the future.
Race numbers were just assigned. I start in Corral C and will you can track my progress on race day with bib number 9252. 10 days and counting...

The race is just under 2 weeks away and the long term weather forecast looks like we have perfect running weather in Chicago.
A few minor training injuries have kept my long runs shorter than I would have liked but I am pain free and excited to tackle my first marathon. My longest run to date is 15 miles so all I need to do is tack on 11.2 short miles and I am set.
From now until race day I am focusing on short to mid distance runs and eating healthy.
The weather is finally cool enough to run with Sierra the dog in the mornings. Once she gets back in shape she can easily handle the Red, White, and Blue trails at Percy Warner Park. We got up early and ran the 4.5 mile Red loop today. Fall is almost here and just in time to have my running buddy join in on the last 5 weeks of training for the race.

It has been a few months since the last update - sorry to keep everyone in the dark.
I don't have a race number yet but I will be starting in Corral C and running as "Taylor Harris". When we get closer to race time I will post the number. (Taylor's my middle name).
I am working to balance getting enough miles per week while staying injury free over the next 40 days.
2 weekends ago I ran my longest run to date at 15 miles. Catherine joined in for the last 5 which was a lot of fun.
I recently bought a new pair of Asics Gel-Lyte33 2 shoes that feel great. For a mid-foot strike shoe with low heel drop it seems to be a good choice with lots of cushion.
Mom is doing well in North Carolina which I know is what everyone wants to know. This year has been hard for everyone but it seems like we are all adjusting.
