In about 2 weeks I'll be in Tahoe at the America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride! I've made so much progress and survived the training thanks to Team In Training. The past three weeks I have completed a 72 mile ride and this past weekend was my second cycle event. I completed an 80 mile course. My fundraising goal is almost met. This is all for those battling or who have lost their life to cancer, such as my grandmother. I can't believe I'm almost there.
80 Mile Real Ale Bike Ride
Last Saturday I reached 62 miles! I would never have thought I would be able to pedal this long and for this many miles. My teammates were right there by my side.
Today I did my first Cycle Event, the Fiesta Wildflower Ride. It was a chance for me to experience a cycle ride with cyclists from all over the San Antonio area and at different levels. I completed the 60 mile ride at my own pace. Team in Training has helped me become a better cyclists and really focus on the goal of helping others.
I have reach 94% of my fundraising goal. I am so happy and proud to have come this far. A little over a month from now and I will reach Tahoe, where I will join other TNT cyclists who have the same goal, to help beat cancer.
Donate today and save a life!!!
Yesterday was a challenge. I made it 57 miles on my bike. I can't believe it! The last 6 miles were hard, but I made it. I tried to stay positive and think about my grandmother and other cancer patients. They endure so much that they have no control over. I felt the soreness of my muscles and my mind was tired. All I could do was keep focusing on why I decided to train, to help cure cancer and support a cure. The cycling team has been wonderful to help me through my training and I look forward to race day in Tahoe.
Help make a difference in the life of a cancer patient and donate today.
Saturday I rode 50 miles!!! The longest ride yet. It was hard, but I accomplished it. I experienced 2 flat tires for the first time. Just 50 more miles to go and just about 2 months to go till Tahoe. I'm blessed to be able to do this. All to help fight blood cancer and to find a cure. In honor of my grandmother. Go Team!!
