5/28/2013- Thank you all for your continued support! I survived my 100 miles in Jacskonville last weekend, in the heat!!! It was awesome! I then took my bike to the bike shop to be broken down to be shipped! On Sunday, I found out it was in Dallas!!!! I love tracking numbers!!! :)
Mark and I will be leaving on Friday, the 31st for Tahoe, I'm very excited and nervous at the same time, I AM READY!!!!!
Thanks again and I hope to get some amazing photos while out west!!! :)
Until next time,
5/10/2103-- I will be riding my buns off this weekend!!!! I will be preparing for a 101 mile bike ride NEXT weekend in Jacksonville!!!!! I am so excited for many reasons!!!! One, it's FLAT; two, I have reached my minimum fundraising limit; and three, Mark and Bennett actually WANT to come support me!!!!!!! I'm not sure how much fun it will be for them, but we shall see!!! :) I ALWAYS love seeing them!!!!!
I am 3 weeks away from the event and I "think" I am ready....... I guess!!!!! More than likely, I will be fine, but there is always my mind to deal with!!
Thank you for those who have donated, I really appreciate your support and I hope to get some amazing photos during the ride to send you as a thank you!!!!
Feel free to keep sharing my link, tell people to donate because it is NOT about me!!! It's about the patients!!!!
Take care, ask me questions as needed and THANK YOU AGAIN for your support!!!
After many, many miles this week and hours in the seat, we had a wonderful Low Country Boil at my parents house today. We had wonderful people come by with a donation for all they could eat and drink!!!!! Over $850 were raised between the food donations and raffle tickets!!!!! We even had a pool for the Kentucky Derby!!!!! The raffles were won by Adrienne and Justin Johnson ( a basket of flavored Vodka's donated from Bull River Beverage), Marcy Brennan (won the wine basket, donated by Bull River Beverage also!), and Bennett Best won a 90 minute simulator session!!!! Yes, Bennett paid his $20 for 4 tickets and actually won!!!!! I promise I didn't rig it!! :)
10 pounds of shrimp, 10 lbs of potatoes, 5 lbs of sausage, and 40 peices of corn went quickly!!! Thanks to my daddy, "Papa", for doing the cooking and to both parents for hosting on this wet, but happy day!!!
I am only about $300 shy of my goal........ getting excited as I am 1 month away from the race!!!
Until next time, thank you for your support, prayers and well wishes!
WOMEN-LESS Pageant is APRIL 13th at Savannah Arts Academy! If you would like tickets, it's a $20 donation!!! Please label your donation as "ticket" so I can put you on the Will Call list!
Please share with everybody!!!! I have space for about 250 people!!!
This will be an amazing event!!!
4/06/13- Over the past week of "spring break", I have taken my son to the Atlanta Aquarium, Atlanta Zoo (with amazing friends), and ridden about 9 hours. This is called "seat time"! The weather made me ride several hours inside on a trainer (bike stand), and finally today I managed to do 2 hours in the beautiful sunshine! I am gearing up for my pageant fundraiser, it's going to be a blast!!! Call, email or FB me if you would like tickets or know somebody who would like to compete for the crown!!! Pictures are on Facebook from 2 years ago if you'd like to check it out!!!
Peddle on, enjoy everyday and MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!!
Thank you to all who have donated thus far, I can't do this alone!!! It takes a village, state, country and Countries to make this work!
Love to all,
Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
2/26/13- Rode my farthest on Sunday, 40 miles! I then went to another amazing spin class on Monday! I haven't peddled or sweat like that in a long time!! :) I am feeling more confident on my bike and am looking forward to longer rides! I just hope the weather cooperates! It's rained over 4 1/2 inches this week alone!
Please keep checking back on my website for updates and please share this with anybody who you can think of!
Until next time,
2/17/13-- One should not be riding in low 40 degree weather in SAVANNAH, but I did with a head wind every direction I turned!!! It was a challenge, but I managed to get my miles in!! I guess I cannot complain when Mark spent 8 hours each treatment in a chemo chair for almost 3 years!
Training is going well, I'm enjoying my miles and the the few precious "me" moments. I am still teaching full time, coaching swimming and tennis, and being mom to Bennett.
I am working towards finishing the 100 mile bike ride in Lake Tahoe in June!, Yes, 100 miles..... hope my butt bones will survive!!! :)
I hope you will please consider donating to my cause as I continue to pedal away!
This is my last large fundraising effort for MARK BEST! My hero, a 6 year survivor of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma!!! I don't know if you can see, but my left arm has, "For Mark" written on it! This is my reasoning!
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
