WELCOME TO MY TEAM IN TRAINING (TNT) HOME PAGE for HIKE YOSEMITE 2017!

Hi, my name is Libby Shively McAvoy. Ten Years ago my Dad, Bob Shively, was diagnosed with Myloma~cancer of the blood and bones.  The prognosis was not good and the only available treatment at the time was pain management when the time came, which they thought would be a matter of 2-4 years.  I ran a Marathon that year in Hawaii through Team in Training and thanks to the support of so many of you I was able to raise close to $12,000.  It truly made a HUGE impact.  Over the course of those ten years and countless fundraising efforts the scientists and doctors have now developed a treatment for Multiple Myeloma- quite a miracle really.  Even more of a miracle is that ten years later, my Dad is still traveling, playing golf and feeling pretty darn well. His last oncology appointment went so well they said he does not have to return for a full year! We are elated with joy and extremely grateful! We realize, however, that we are the rare case.  He has even lost a dear friend to Myeloma whose life was taken in just months. So the fight continues. 

By participating as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) TNT, I am raising funds to help find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. My good friends Susan's nephew Paul Wilson, of Cincinnati, just a young boy in high school, is currently in Children's Hospital fighting for his life with Leukemia.  You see, cancer knows no age and knows no boundaries.  So let's pull together and give Paul, and ALL those who are suffering a little extra hope.  The belief that better days are coming.

Your donation will help fund treatments that save lives every day; like immnuotherapies that use a person’s own immune system to kill cancer. You may not know it, but every single donation helps save a life with breakthrough therapies such as these.

Patients need these cures and they need your support.  If you have your health you have all you need.  Donate for the sake of those less fortunate.  Any amount will help. Lets raise the vibration, show love and kindness and show the world true HOPE! 

It takes more than one person to make up a team and that’s why I’m asking you to donate to my LLS fundraising page!  Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help get us all closer to a world without blood cancers.  My daughter, Morgan, and I are making the trek to Yosemite National Park together June 10th to participate in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training Event.  We are training hard and loving the journey!   It takes a village sometimes, but together we can move mountains.
