Dear Friends,

Thank-you for donating to our Team in Training fundraising. With your help we raised over $7,000. Team in Training raised nearly $400,000 at the Virginia Beach half marathon. This money makes a difference to cancer patients. Team in Training funded the research that discovered rituximab, which is one of the drugs in my chemotherapy and has greatly increased the survival rates for B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Andrea and I enjoyed the event day - we really did. The support from Team in Training, complete strangers in the the crowd and Jo was amazing. We met some fantastic people, particularly the coaches that helped us out along the course. Despite our injuries and training problems we finished in time to get our medals and even sprinted across the line.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our Chili's fundraiser we raised $120.00 and all while eating some delicious food.

We'd also like to thank Sara's sister Beth, who for 3 weeks running had a sale at Jennie's school. She collected and made things to sell including vegetables, home made jam, flowers and cakes. Beth made 175 pounds, which works out as $300.00! Thank-you Beth, you are amazing!

Training is going well, but will be hard over the next few weeks to get the miles up.

Wow - thank-you to everyone who has donate to us. Thank-you to all of Jo's friends and collegues, you have all been so generous! Holly's Haircuts went really well. We raised $110.00 and had a fun afternoon. Thanks to Holly and everyone who came along.

Training is back on schedule. Saturday went really well. We are increasing our miles and still having a good time.

Today I had my port-a-cath out, so I'm feeling a little sore but very happy. Being at the surgery center reminded me of last spring when I was first diagnosed and had my port fitted and what has happened over the last 16 months. It was a good reminder of why Drea and I decided to do this.

Training went well this morning, despite having to start at 7.00am!! Sara's knees are doing a lot better thanks to Dr Potter and the great people at the Virginia Center for Physical Therapy. Having to take it slowly though until completely better.

We want to re-thank Darcey and Carrie for the amazing baking they did for our cookie and cupcake sale a few weeks ago which raised $150.00!! Thanks also to all those at Marva Maid for joining in.
